PLN signs PPA with Supraco

PT Supraco Mitra Energie, a subisidary of oil and gas services company Radiant Utama Interinsco Tbk, and the state utility PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) have signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) for the mini-hydropower plant Gumanti 3 in Padang, West Sumatra.

The PPA was signed on Thursday by PLN West Sumatra General Manager Judi Winardi and Supraco Mitra Energie President Director Misyal A Bahwal on the sidelines of a coordinating meeting of PLN West Sumatra region.

Also present during the signing ceremony were PLN Operation Director Moch Harry Jaya Pahlawan, and Solok Regent Syamsu Rahim.

Misyal A Bahwal said that the construction of the hydropower plant, which is planned to have a generation capacity of 6.45 megawatt (MW), will be completed in 24 months with a total investment of about 11 million Euro.

The power plant is part of the plan to strengthen the security of power supply in the province, which is estimated to have a total potential power generation from hydropower plants at 1,100 MW.

Supraco has also planned to develop other hydropower plants in the province, namely Gumanti 1 & 2, which both have a total generation capacity of 15 MW.
