PLN signs strategic cooperation with five SOEs

State-owned electricity firm PT PLN signed on Tuesday strategic cooperation with five state-owned enterprises (SOEs) as part of synergy among SOEs as the power firm aims to develop more power plants in the country.
PLN said in a statement that the agreement, signed on the sidelines of an electricity seminar and exhibition event in Tangerang, Banten, was made with steel maker PT Krakatau Steel, shipyard firm PT PAL, industrial equipment manufacturer PT Boma Bisma Indra, engineering firm PT Barata Indonesia, and land-system and weapons maker PT Pindad.
The three-year agreement covers cooperation in the areas of maintenance, rehabilitation, recondition and reverse engineering of specific components in power plants; and supervision, training, and transfer of technology, the statement added.
