State-owned electricity company PLN and Concord Energy Pte. Ltd. Singapore on Monday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to supply fuel from overseas sources to the Indonesian firm?s power plants.

PLN president director Eddie Widiono Suwondo and Concord Energy?s managing director Nasrat Muzayyin signed the MoU in Jakarta.

The cooperation would include a joint study over the possibility of sourcing fuel from overseas markets, Eddie said. The two-month study, which would commence soon, could lead to the formation of a joint venture, he said.

Eddie said that PLN and its units need some sorts of fuel like speed diesel, marine fuel oil and marine diesel oil.

Singapore-based Concord Energy is involved in the trading and transportation of crude oil and refinery products. (godang)
