PLN starts operating the 8th PLTMH in Lombok

State-owned electricity company PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) has started the commercial operation of mini-hydropower plants (PLTMH) with an installed capacity of 2x275 kW that could provide electricity to 520 consumers with 900 VA capacity.
The PLTMH is located in Buwun Sejati village, Narmada, West Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara province.
The mini-hydropower plant utilizes the Sesaot river to generate an electricity turbine.
The construction of the PLTMH began in October 2015 and has become the 8th PLTMH that is operated by PLN in NTB so far, said Rudi Purnomoloka, General Manager of PLN for Unit NTB.

The other PLTMHs are located in Cakra, Sesaot, Pengga, Kukusan, Karang Bayan, Narmada and Santong.
PLN NTB also operates a hydro-power plant in North Lombok, namely in Koko Putih and Segara.
As of June 2020, the installed capacity of renewable energy-based (RE) power plants in NTB has reached 38 MW or 11.5 percent of power plant capacity in the island. The RE-based power plants consist of solar power plants (PLTS) and PLTA or PLTMH.
