State electricity firm PT PLN (Persero) said it has decided not to extend gas supply contract from state gas distribution firm PT PGN (Persero) Tbk for its Muara Tawar combined cycle power plant in Bekasi, West Java.

Head of Fuel and Gas Procurement Chairani Rachmatullah told Petromindo.Com on Monday that gas supply from PGN no longer required as per April this year as the company has decided to function Muara Tawar as peaker power plant.

Chairani said that prior to contract termination; PGN supplied 100 BBTUD of gas to Muara Tawar.

According to Chairani, PLN now uses CNG supplied by Pertamina EP to fuel Muara Tawar power plant.

According to PLN?s website Muara Tawar has four blocks of power plants with combined capacity of 1,760 MW.
