State owned utility firm PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) is targeting up to 7,300 MW of electricity supply from mine mouth power plants until 2020.
?The mine mouth power plants will be built in numerous locations, in particular in South Sumatra,? President Director Nur Pamudji in Jakarta.
In line with that plan, PLN will next June start a tender for 3x600 MW mine mouth power plant in South Sumatra and another one, with the capacity of 2x400 MW, in Jambi. ?It will be followed by other tenders for other mine mouth power plant projects in other locations.?
In order to secure the coal supply, Nur Pamudji said it would require business integration with the coal sector. He refused to elaborate, but added that PLN would announce a model in March designed to secure the required coal supply.
