PLN, Tax Office sign MoU on taxation data integration

State electricity company PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) and the Directorate General for Taxation (Tax Office) of the Finance Ministry have agreed to cooperate on digitalizing taxation data integration.

The cooperation was marked by the signing of memorandum of understanding (MoU) by President Director of PLN, Zulkifli Zaini and Director General for Taxation Suryo Utomo, which was witnessed by Deputy Minister for SOE, Budi Gunadi Sadikin, Deputy Minister for Energy and Mineral Resources (MEMR) as well as Deputy Minister of Finance, Suahasil Nazara on Friday (31/01).

Based on the MoU, PLN and the Tax Office will develop tax data integration by granting access rights to PLN to obtain input Tax Invoice data issued by PLN's vendors on the Taxation Office system and the formulation of the annual corporate tax payment.

"As one of the state-owned companies with a large tax contribution to the State, this MoU is a strategic effort in improving tax administration through optimization of the IT system by utilizing the availability of database and tax information systems, thereby creating transparency and improving tax compliance," said PLN President Director Zulkifli Zaini.

The benefits of the taxation data integration are, among other, preventing taxation disputes, cut the costs as well as enable tax payers to focus on their business," he said.
