PLN tender for construction of two coal-fired power plants in Papua

State electricity PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) region Papua and West Papua announced on Wednesday the pre-qualification tender to build two coal-fired power plants in Marauke and Nabire regencies with a capacity of 2 x 7 MW, each under independent power producer (IPP) scheme.
PLN said that the interested party should be a local investor or foreign investor cooperating with local partner.
The bidder should have an experience to build and operate coal-fired power plant or non coal-fired power plant.
PLN will buy electricity produced for 25 years and the winner will operate the plants under build-own-transfer (BOT) mechanism. The winner will also build 20 KV transmission network, PLN said.
