PLN to absorb gas at 380 tbtu next year

State utility PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) is expected to absorb 380 trillion british thermal unit (tbtu) during next year with an average price of US$ 9 per mmbtu.

"The government has set a target for us to absorb gas at 380 tbtu at an average price of $9 per mmbtu. So, totally it will be at the value of about US$3.5 billion next year,? PLN Oil Fuel (BBM) and Gas Division Head Suryadi Mardjoeki told Petromindo.com in Jakarta on Wednesday

Suryadi said that this year the target of gas absorption was set at 346 tbtu. ?God?s willing, at the end of this year the gas absorption will amount to 360 tbtu. It will be 104 percent from the target,? he added.

"I would like to thank all partners and officials concerned, particularly those with the ministry of energy and mineral resources, BPMIGAS, Pertamina, PGN, KEI, and Santos,? he said.
