PLN to announce Cirebon power project pre-qualification results next week

State-owned electricity firm is scheduled to announce the pre-qualification result of the tender to build a 600-megawatt coal fired power plant in Cirebon, West Java, on October 21, a company official said Monday.
?There are 36 local and foreign companies participating in the pre-qualification tender process,? PLN?s director of primary energy and power generation Ali Herman Ibrahim said without giving further details.
The winner of the tender will develop the power plant under the build, operate, own (BOO) 30-year contract with PLN.
According to Ali, the Cirebon power plant is expected to come on stream in 2008. (godang)
