PLN to build 120 transmission towers in Aceh

State-owned electricity company PT PLN is planning to build 120 transmission towers in Aceh Barat Daya Regency, Aceh Province, to transmit electricity from the Nagan Raya coal-fired power plant to a substation in Blangpidie.
Tribunnews.com quoted General Manager of PLN for Meulaboh area in Aceh, Saslizar as saying that about 90 percent of land owners in four districts have agreed to release their land for the project.
He said that once the 120 kV transmission towers completed, rotating blackouts in Blangpidie region can be avoided as power supply will reach 37 MW, or exceeding demand. No further details about the project were provided. (*)
