PLN to build 60,000 Km transmission networks

State-owned electricity firm PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) will develop a combined 60,000 Km of power transmission line until 2022 across the country to help cope with rising demand for electricity, Investor Daily reported on Friday.

?This year, we?re targeting to complete (the construction of) 4,800 Km,? said Nasri Sebayang, Director for Construction and Renewable Energy at the company.

Nasri, however, said that developing the transmission line would not be easy particularly due to difficulties with regard to land acquisition. (*)
