PLN to build GISTET 500 kV in Tambun

State-owned electricity firm PT PLN said on Friday it will develop a 500 kV extra high voltage gas insulated substation (GISTET) in Tambun, Bekasi, West Java, Province.

PLN said in a statement that construction of the facility is expected to be completed within 18-24 months.

The GISTET Tambun will initially have capacity of 2x500 MVA, which could further expanded in the next phase to 4x500 MVA, increasing power supply reliability to household and industry consumers in Bekasi, where electricity consumption is estimated to grow by around 3 percent per year, PLN said.
