State-owned electricity firm PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) will build 5 mini-hydro power plants in Yahukimo, Papua, following the signing on November 19 of a preliminary agreement between the state owned utility firm and Yahukimo Regent Ones Pahabol.
The power plant will be developed in 5 locations; Sobaham, Lolat, Ninia, Nalca and Pasema with a combined capacity of 0.1 MW, PLN said in a statement.
?The Yahukimo administration will support PLN in providing the land for the project, as both the administration and people of this region are aware of the need for the electricity to support economic development in the region,? said Ones Pahabol after the signing in Jakarta.
