PLN to get additional gas supply for Cilegon power plants in December

State electricity firm PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) said its PLTGU Cilegon 740-MW power plant in Banten will receive additional gas supply from sate ownwed gas distributor PT Perusahaan Gas Negara (PGN) on the Dec. 6, 2006, a one-month delay from the initial schedule.

?PGN has told us the gas supply would be delayed from early November to early December, citing a facility maintenance program. We expect PGN to supply the gas on Dec. 6,? PLN?s senior official Nasri Sebayang said Wednesday.

Earlier, Nasri Sebayang said Cilegon power plant will receive additional 30MMCFD of supply from PGN. PGN, he said, will get the gas from ConocoPhillips? Corridor block onshore South Sumatra.

PLN has signed a contract with PGN to get the additional gas supply over a period of 10 years, he said. (bernard)
