PLN to get additional power supply of 3,455 MW this year

Speaking during a press briefing on Tuesday, PLN?s director for construction Nasri Sebayang said that as many as 19 coal-fired power plants, which were built as part of the first track power plant development program, would begin commercial operation this year.
The new power plants which would begin commercial operation this year include PLTU Pelabuhan Ratu in West Java with capacity of 700 MW, PLT U Pacitan in East Java with a capacity of 630 MW, PLTU Paiton in Central Java with a capacity of 660 MW
In Sumatra, PLTU Nagan Raya Nanggroe in Aceh Darusalam with a capacity of 220 MW, PLTU Kepri ? Tanjung Balai Karimun in Riau Islands with a capacity of 14 MW, PLTU Tarahan Baru in-Lampung with a capacity of 200 MW, PLTU Teluk Sirih in West Sumatra with a capacity of 224 MW, PLTU Bangka Belitung-3 with capacity of 60 MW, PLTU Bangka Belitung-4 with a capacity of 16,5 MW
In Kalimantan, there will be PLT U Asam-Asam in South Kalimantan with a capacity of 130 MW.
In West Nusa Tenggara, there will be PLTU Bima with a capacity of 20 MW
In East Nusa Tenggara, there will be PLTU Ende with a capacity of 14 MW, PLT U Kupang with a capacity of 33 MW.
In Sulawesi, there will be PLTU Amurang in North Sulawesi with a capacity of 50 MW, PLT U Kendari in Southeast Sulawesi with a capacity of 20 MW, PLTU Barru in South Sulawesi with a capacity of 100 MW.
In Maluku, there will be PLTU Ambon in Maluku with a capacity of 15 MW, and PLTU Tidore in North Maluku with a capacity of 14 MW.
In Papua, there will be PLTU Holtekamp with a capacity of 20 MW.
He said that PLN would also receive additional supply of 2,070 MW in 2013 and another 880 MW in 2014. ?We hope all power plants built as part of the first track program will begin commercial operation at the end of 2014,? he added.
PLTU Adipala with a capacity of 1 x 660 MW in Central Java might be the latest plant to begin operation because the construction of the plan began only last year, he added.
