PLN to get additional power supply of 3,513 MW this year

State electricity company PT PLN (Persero) expects it will be able to get additional power supply of about 3,515 megawatt (MW) from a number of coal-fired power plants built under the first 10,000 MW fast track program, Investor Daily reported on Wednesday.

PLN director for construction Nasri Sebayang said in Jakarta on Tuesday that at least 19 coal-fired power plants built under the first track program would be able to begin commercial operation this year.

?There will be additional power supply of 3,515 MW this year from the first 10,000 MW fast track program,? he said

The coal-fired power plants which are scheduled to begin commercial operation this year include; PLTU Pelabuhan Ratu (West Java) with 700 MW capacity, PLTU Pacitan (East Java) 630 MW dan PLTU Paiton 660 MW.

In Sumatera, the new power plants will include PLTU Nagan Raya (Aceh) 220 MW, PLTU Kepri (Tanjung Balai Karimun) 14 MW, PLTU Tarahan Baru (Lampung) 200 MW PLTU Teluk Sirih (West Sumatera) 224 MW PLTU Bangka Belitung-3 60 MW, dan PLTU Bangka Belitung-4 16.5 MW

In eastern Indonesia, the new power plants are PLTU Asam-Asam (South Kalimantan) 130 MW, PLTU Bima (West Nusa Tenggara) 20 MW, PLTU Ende (East Nusa Tenggara) 14 MW ,PLTU Kupang (East Nusa Tenggara) 33 MW, PLTU Amurang (North Sulawesi) 50 MW, PLTU Kendari (Southeast Sulawesi) 20 MW, PLTU Barru (South Sulawesi) 1.00MW, PLTU Tidore (North Maluku) 14MW, PLTU Holtekamp (Papua) 20MW dan PLTU Ambon (Maluku) 15 MW.
