PLN to get LNG supply for power plants

State oil, gas company PT PLN (Persero) said it has secure additional LNG supply from Indonesian unit of French oil, gas giant Total E&P Indonesie and has been told by the government that it will secure LNG supply from Donggi-Senoro LNG and Masela LNG projects.

Senior Manager of Gas and Oil Procurement Suryadi Mardjoeki said on Thursday that Total will provide additional 60 MMCFD of gas from Mahakam block to supply PLN?s power plant in eastern part of Indonesia. He did not say when the LNG supply will start.

He did not give detail about the volume of LNG that it would get from the Inpex-operated Masela LNG project, but saying that PLN will get 20-25 BBTUD of gas from Donggi-Senoro LNG.

According to Suryadi, PLN currently requires supply of 200 MMCFD of gas to supply its eastern part of Indonesia power plants or enough to fuel 800 MW of power plants.

Suryadi also said that PLN has sent letter to upstream oil, gas authority BPMIGAS to get LNG supply from BP-operated Tangguh LNG. BPMIGAS, however, has yet responded to PLN?s request, he said. (giok)
