PLN to hold tender for three power plant projects this month

State-owned electricity firm PT PLN plans to hold tender this month for the procurement and construction of three coal-fired power plant projects, which are part of the combined 35,000 MW power plants to be developed within the next five years, Bisnis Indonesia reported on Tuesday.

The three projects are the 200 MW Kalselteng II power plant project in South Kalimantan, the 1x100 MW Barru power plant project in South Sulawesi, and the 650 MW Muara Tawar add on project in Bekasi, West Java.

?We?re now waiting for the approval of the board of directors in terms of qualification of the contractors and the equipment,? said Head of Strategic Procurement at PLN, Iwan Purwana.

Iwan said that PLN will only select experienced contractors to help ensure timely delivery of the projects. (*)
