PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) will put in place an integrated system that will enable the state owned utility firm to monitor online the development progress of its power plant projects, and immediately deal with problems whenever they may arise.

The system, called PMO or Project Management Office, will cost around Rp45 billion to be divided into three phases.

?This investment is relatively cheap considering it will monitor in real time projects worth trillions of rupiah,? said PLN Director of Planning and Construction Nasri Sebayang.

Nasri said that at present, information regarding the progress of a project comes fairly slow. ?With this system, we can access the project process. Is it on time, is it on budget. If it?s not, then we?ll look at the cause and immediately seek solution,? Nasri added.
