State-owned electricity company Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) said it would impose a penalty against PT Nusantara Regas, the operator of the West Java Floating Storage and Regasification Unit (FSRU) following regasification failure on Wednesday.
Nusantara Regas is a joint venture between state-owned oil and gas company PT Pertamina and gas distribution firm PGN.
The regasification failure led to a 30-minute electricity supply ?disturbance? in Jakarta during peak hours, and prompted PLN to switch to using more expensive petroleum-based fuel to power its generation units, said Head of Fuel and Gas Division at PLN, Suryadi Mardjoeki.
He added that PLN will seek for explanation from Nusantara Regas, and file a report with the Minister of Finance. ?We?ll impose penalty against Nusantara Regas,? he told Petromindo.com, but did not disclose the amount of the penalty.
