Tuesday, April 26 2005 - 05:11 AM WIB

State electricity company PT PLN will offer a power plant project in Cilegon, Banten to national or foreign investors.

The planned coal-fired power plant is designed with the capacity of 450 Megawatt (MW), which is extendable to 600 MW, according to PLN?s president Eddie Widiono.

PLN?s finance director Parno Isworo said the pre-qualification process would be held in June this year. Two weeks after, those passing the pre-qualification process would be shortlisted.

?In December this year, we shall have the list of preferred bidders and we shall negotiate with the bidders in February next year. There is no guarantee that investors that offer the lowest bidding price will win the project,? Parno said, adding the power plant was scheduled to come on stream in 2009. (Alex)
