State-owned electricity firm PT PLN is expected to open tender in October for the procurement of five gas engine power plants (PLTMG) with combined capacity of 45 MW in Papua and Maluku regions.
?Preparations are underway. The plan is to open the tender early next month,? said PLN Business Director for Papua and Maluku regions Ahmad Rofiq to Petromindo.com on Tuesday.
The five PLTMG projects PLTMG Malifut 5 MW, PLTMG Namlea 10 MW, PLTMG Dobo 10 MW, PLTMG Saumlaki 10 MW and PLTMG Serui-1 10 MW.
Construction of the power projects were supposed to start this year, but was delayed due to a failed tender earlier this year. ?The five power plants are targeted to start operation by 2019 at the latest. On average, construction of gas power plant can be completed in a year. So we?re optimistic the target can be achieved,? he said.
