State-owned electricity company PT PLN signed a MoU on Tuesday with PT Bangun Palu Sulteng for the supply of electricity to the Palu special economic zone (SEZ) in Central Sulawesi being developed by the latter company.

PLN said in a statement that to help ensure power supply to the SEZ, the company would develop new transmission lines, a 150 kV relay station, and a 100 MW coal-fired power plant called PLTU Palu 3 project in Donggala, Central Sulawesi.

The 1,500-ha SEZ, located near the Pantoloan Palu Port, will house a number of industries including manufacturing, logistics, and export-oriented companies.
