PLN to re-tender Pranap mine-mouth power plant project

The state electricity company PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) will re-tender the mine-mouth power plant project win Pranap, Indragiri Hulu regency.Riau because the first tender attracted only one bidder.
Suhatman, the spokesman for PLN operation in Riau and Riau Islands provinces, said on Monday that the project would be reentered to allow PLN to obtain good price and a qualified bidder.
He said that there was only a bidder taking part in the first tender which was held in May, last year. He did not divulge the name of the bidder.
The 2x300 MW Pranap mine-mouth power plant will be built near a mining area owned by state owned coal mining company PT Tambang Batubara Bukit Asam (PTBA). The mining area is estimated to hold coal reserves of about 2 billion tonnes. (*)
