PLN to receive additional 425 MMSCFD gas supply

State owned electricity company PLN will receive about 425 MMSCFD additional gas supply this year to meet the surging gas need of the company?s combined cycle power plants.
M Surya Mardjoeki, the head of PLN?s division for fuel and gas purchase, said in Jakarta on Wednesday that about 200 MMSCFD of the total gas supply would be provided by the Floating Storage Regasification Unit (FSRU) at the Jakarta Bay.
In addition, PLN will also receive 130 MMSCFD from PGN which includes of 55 MMSCFD from the Jambi-Merang gas swap and 40 MMSCFD from the Gajah Baru gas swap, he told Petromindo.com
PGN has received gas supply from Jambi Merang since November, last year, while the supply of gas from Premier?s Gajah Baru field is expected to begin on February 1, this year, Surya said, adding that PLN expected to be able to receive gas supply from the FSRU at the Jakarta Bay beginning on June 1, 2012.
FSRU at the Jakarta bay will get LNG from Bontang at volume of 1.5 million tons per annum. The FSRU will have a capacity to supply up to 500 MMSCFD to PLN?s Muara Karang and Tanjung Priok combined cycle power plants through Nusantara Regas?s pipelines.
