PLN to rent another 400 MW ‎diesel power plants

State owned electricity company PT PLN plans to rent another 400 MW of diesel fueled power plants during the 2014/2015 period for northern Sumatera region, apart from the 180 MW plan currently in auction process, said Nasri Sebayang, PLN Construction Director Thursday.
The 400 MW generators are planned to enter commercial operation in September 2015. PLN at the moment is surveying the location for the generators.
The leased diesel power plants are expected to help resolve the lingering electricity crisis in North Sumatra region in the short term pending the completion of PLN?s existing power plant projects , Nasri said.
