PLN to rent power plant in Babel

In order to further increase the power supply in Bangka and Belitung (Babel), state electricity company PLN will rent PLTU Air Anyer coal fired power plant which would be built in Merawang district, Bangka by PT Capital Turbines Indonesia and Odira Energy Persada.
The rental agreement on the power plant which would have a capacity of 2 x 30 megawatt (MW) was signed in Jakarta on Wednesday by PLN?s President Director Nur Pamudji and PT Capital Turbines Indonesia's Djani Sutedja.
Under the agreement, PLN would rent the PLTU Air Anyer power plant for 9 years on rental contract worth 5.5550 US cent per kWh.
With a project guarantee worth US$973,236 by PT Bank Pembangunan Daerah Sumatera Selatan and Bangka Belitung, the construction of the first unit will be completed within 24 months, and 26 months for the second.
