State-owned electricity firm PT PLN plans to repeat tender for two gas-fired power plant projects in September following the absence of bids in the previous tenders, Kontan reported on Friday.

The paper quoted PLN Procurement Director Supangkat Iwan Santoso as saying that the company is currently seeking inputs from potential investors to find the best tender format such as in terms of electricity tariff that would not overly burdensome for PLN but also attractive enough for investors.

PLN launched tender for Riau gas-fired power plant peaker 200 MW in June, and the Pontianak gas-fired power plant peaker 100 MW in May.

Supangkat said that while many investors submitted proposals to PLN, none made a bid until the July 21 deadline.

He said that PLN hopes to conclude talks with potential investors within the next two weeks to come up with the best tender format. (*)
