State-owned electricity firm PT PLN will repeat tender of five gas engine power plant (PLTMG) projects in Papua and Maluku regions with combined capacity of 45 MW. The projects were initially planned to start construction this year.

PLN Business Director for Maluku and Papua region, Haryanto WS told Petromindo.com on Wednesday that the five PLTM projects are PLTMG Malifut 5 MW, PLTMG Namlea 10 MW, PLTMG Dobo 10 MW, PLTMG Saumlaki 10 MW and PLTMG Serui-1 10 MW.

?The (previous) tender has failed because the (price) offer was above the Own Price Estimate (HPS). The tender will soon be repeated,? he said.

PLN has previously set a target to develop 11 PLTMGs in the two regions this year. Haryanto said that aside from the five PLTMG projects, construction of the other six PLTMG projects are proceeding as planned.

The PLTMG projects that are scheduled to start construction this year are PLTMG Biak 15 MW, PLTMG Jayapura Peaker 40 MW, PLTMG Ambon Peaker 40 MW, PLTMG Langgur 20 MW, PLTMG Seram 20 MW and PLTMG Marauke 20 MW.
