PLN to replace 2.6 million kWh meter devices

State utility company PT PLN said it will launch a mass program to replace old kilowatt-hour meters, a device to measure electricity usage installed in customers homes or places, across the nation on October 27, 2011.

The program which is launched as part of commemorating the 66th anniversary of PLN is aimed at improving and maintaining the accuracy of measuring the consumers electricity usage, the company said Tuesday.

The kWh meter devices to be replaced will be those that are already 20 years old or more. PLN said it targets to replace up to 2.6 million kWh meters this year. (giok)
