PLN to review fuel tender

State owned electricity firm PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) will postpone decisions on the winners of the tender for the supply of fuel to its power plants as it is making a review of the tender, particularly regarding volume and supply assurance, Kontan reported on Wednesday.

PLN?s director of generation and primary energy Ali Herman Ibrahim said on Tuesday that a team had been established to analyze the issues so that the target of the tender to obtain cheap price with guaranteed supply could be achieved.

The team also would review power plants entitled to the fuel so that power plants outside Java, such as that in Belawan in North Sumatra, would also have ample opportunity to obtain the supply.

The analysis would take around one up to two weeks but won?t affect the previous pre-qualification because bidders have not submitted bidding document.

Deputy for the director of primary energy Tonny Agus Mulyantono said that the volume of the tendered supply range from one to two million kiloliters and PLN has tentatively named the Grati ( East Java), Tambak Lorok (Central Java) and Muara Tawar (Bekasi) power plants as the recipients of the fuel.
