PLN to seek LNG supply from Australia, Kazakhstan

State electricity firm PT PLN (Persero) is scouting for LNG supply from Australia and Kazakhstan to meet gas requirement for its power plants.
Planning and Technology director Nasri Sebayang said that PLN team will leave for Australia end of this month.
Meanwhile, PLN?s Manager of Gas & Oil Procurement M Suryadi Mardjoeki said that PLN?s gas shortage is currently at around 1,500 BBTUD.
?PLN?s currently needs 2,000 BBTUD of gas and we currently have gas supply contract of 1,000 BBTUD, but suppliers only managed to supply 500 BBTUD,? Mardjoeki said.
PLN has also held talks with LNG suppliers from Middle East. (giok)
