State-owned electricity company PT PLN is scheduled to sign two coal purchase contracts with coal mining firm PT Hanson Energy at the end of this month.

Head of Coal Division at PLN Helmi Najamudin told Petromindo.com recently that under the contracts, Hanson will supply 1 million tons of coal per year each to PLN?s Pangkalan Susu power plant in North Sumatra and Pelabuhan Ratu plant in West Java.

?The contract will be signed end of this month,? he said, adding that similar contracts with coal miners PT Batara Batari Sinergi Nusantara and PT Energi Batu Bara Lestari supposedly to be signed this month have been delayed to next year.
