PLN to sign PPA with Bakrie next month

State electricity company PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) hopes to sign new power purchase agreement (PPA) next month with PT Bakrie Power

PLN?s director for renewable energy Muhammad Sofyan said PLN is finalizing the negotiation with Bakrie Power, which has a right to develop Sokoria geothermal working area in Nusa Tenggara Timur with potentials to generate electricity of 30 MW.

He also said that PLN is also finalzing the negotiation with PT Supreme Energy, which has a right to develop Liki Pinawangan geothermal working area in West Sumatra with potentials to generate electricity of 220 MW, the Raja Basa geothermal working area in Lampung with potentials to generate electricity of 220 MW

PLN expected to buy electricity from the Raja Basa geothermal plant for 9.5 US cent per kwh, while that from the Liki Pinawangan and Sokoria at the price of 9.4 US cents per kwh. (*)
