PLN to sign PPA with six IPPs outside Java

Deputy Director of Independent Power Producer (IPP) Supervision Nasri Sebayang said in Jakarta on Tuesday that the six coal-fired power plant projects include Sumsel in South Sumatra(2x112.5 MW), Mulut Tambang in South Kalimantan (2x60 MW), Minahasa in North Sulawesi(2x50 MW), Nunukan in East Kalimantan(2x10 MW) and Kupang in West Nusa Tenggara (2x10 MW).
Contractors of the projects are obligated to settle their financial issue in not later than twelve months. ?Afterward, the construction of the power plants are expected to be completed in 30 - 36 months,? he said
In October last year, PLN signed PPA for five IPP projects: coal-fired Molobatu (2x10 MW) in Gorontalo, coal-fired Kaltim (2x25 MW) in East Kalimantan, hydropower Poso (3x65 MW) in Central Sulawesi, coal-fired Baturaja (2x112.5 MW) in South Sumatra and geothermal Sarulla (3x110 MW) in North Sumatra, respectively.
