PLN to sign two gas supply contracts end of October

State-owned electricity company PT PLN will sign two contracts for the supply of a total of 135 million cubic feet per day (MMCFD) of gas to its power plants at the end of this month, a company official said Thursday.
?PLN will sign two gas supply contracts with Pertamina-Semco and Energi Mega Persada,? said PLN?s deputy director Tonny Agus, adding that gas supplies from both firms were expected to commence this year for a 15-year period.
Tonny said Pertamina-Semco will supply about 15 MMCFD of gas from Semberah field to the 3x60-Megawatt Tanjung Batu power plant in East Kalimantan, while Energi Mega will provide a total of 120 MMCFD of gas from Kangean block for both the Grati and Gresik power plants in East Java.
Tonny added PLN would pay the firms between US$2.8 and $3 per million British thermal unit for the gas supplies. (godang)
