PLN to soon sign two EPC contracts for transmission line projects

State-owned electricity firm PT PLN hopes to sign two EPC contracts next week for the construction of 500 kV transmission lines linking Cirebon and Bekasi, in West Java, Bisnis Indonesia reported on Tuesday.

The paper quoted PLN Business Director for Central Java Region, Nasri Sebayang as saying the tender process for the two transmission line projects have been completed. He did not disclose the winning bidders. ?Next week, the contracts will be signed,? he said.

He said that the two transmission line projects, from Cirebon to Indramayu and from Indramayu to Bekasi, each with a value of Rp 500 billion, forms part of the total 46,000 kms transmission lines to be developed along the northern coast of Java.

PLN has previously signed six EPC contracts for transmission line projects linking Jepara and Cirebon. The six transmission line projects along with the additional two projects are expected to be completed in 2019 that would connect electricity network from Surabaya in East Java to Bekasi in West Java.
