PLN to tight up requirements on coal suppliers

Thursday, October 27 2011 - 06:46 AM WIB

State utility company PT PLN planned to tight up requirements for coal producers eligible to supply coal to the company to help support the government in enforcing the mining regulations.

One option of the requirement is that the coal suppliers should secure the Clear and Clean (CnC) certificate issued by the Energy and Mineral Resources Ministry office.

?We will give same chance to all coal miners to supply the coal to the PLN but the producers should comply with existing regulations such as Clear and Clean certificate,? said Nur Pamudji, PLN?s director of primer energy, has said.

The statement was addressed to the KP holders of small and medium scale coal producers.

There are currently about 8,000 companies holding the KP but only some 3,000 of them have secured the Clear and Clean certificate. (adianto)
