PLN, Twink-Percie to build power plant in W. Sumbawa

State owned electricity company PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) will cooperate with a consortium of PT Twink Indonesia and PT Percie to build a coal-fired power plant in West Sumbawa with a capacity of 2 x 7 megawatt.

The cooperation agreement was signed in Jakarta on Friday between PLN?s director for eastern Indonesia Vickner Sinaga and the head of the Twink-Percie consortium Julius Kaligis.

Speaking after the signing of the cooperation agreement, Vickner said that the construction of the plant was part of PLN?s fast track power plant development program for areas outside Java. The plant will be built in Jorok Tiram village, West Sumbawa in West Nusa Tenggara province.

With a total cost of about Rp 264 billion, the plant is expected to begin commercial operation in 2013. (*)
