State utility firm PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) cannot as yet absorb the full 30 bbtud of gas from Bentu PSC block onshore Riau as mandated by a Service Level Agreement (SLA) signed with the block's operator EMP Bentu, the unit of PT Energi Mega Persada, according to an industrial source.

The source told Petromindo.com that PLN could most probably absorb the gas supply, to come from Seng and Segat gas fields, in the first quarter of next year.

The source added that gas ramp-up from Bentu to 30 bbtud took place in October, in accordance with the SLA whose signing was also witnessed by top officials from SKK Migas and UKP4.
