PLN unit begins construction of C. Java mini hydro power plant

PT Indonesia Power, a subsidiary of state-owned electricity company PT PLN, launched Wednesday ground-breaking ceremony for an 8 MW mini hydro power plant project in Lambur Village, Kandangserang District, Pekalongan Regency, Central Java.
Indonesia Power said in a statement that construction is expected to start in November once all the permitting process has been obtained. The power plant project is targeted to be completed in October 2017.
The company said that the Pekalongan Regency administration has been helpful in land acquisition and permitting process for the project, the output of which will help increase power supply in the region.
Indonesia Power said that the company plans to develop another mini hydro power plant, with a capacity of 3x3.3 MW in Harjosari, Pekalongan. The company is still in the process of obtaining the necessary permits.
