PLN urges Nusantara Regas to supply gas to Tanjung Priok plant

State-owned electricity company PLN urged PT Nusatara Regas to quickly fulfill its commitment to supply 50 bbtud of gas from its FSRU facility to the Tanjung Priok power plant.
Head of gas and fuel division at PLN, M. Suryadi Mardjoeki, told Petromindo.com on Tuesday that the Tanjung Priok plant requires a total of 200 bbtud of gas, of which about 120 bbtud to come from PT Pertamina Hulu Energi (PHE), 30 bbtud from PGN, and the remainder 50 bbtud from Nusantara Regas.
That?s the normal gas requirement of the Tanjung Priok plant. During peak hours, Suryadi said, the gas requirement could increase to 300 bbtud. ?The Tanjung Priok plant is still lacking gas supply,? he said, reiterating his demand for Nusantara Regas to soon realize its supply commitment.
PHE ONWJ President Director Tenny Wibowo told Petromindo.com on Monday that the company has now been able to maximize gas supply from the ONWJ block to the PLN Tanjung Priok power plant by redirecting supply for the Muara Karang plant as Nusantara Regas could provide the gas supply for the latter power plant.
Hendra Jaya, President Director of Nusantara Regas, confirmed this. He told Petromindo.com that his company hopefully could later supply gas to the Tanjung Priok plant after the construction of a tie-in gas pipeline project has been completed.
At present Tanjung Priok and Muara Karang is linked by one pipeline belonging to ONWJ.
