State owned electricity firm PT PLN (Persero) wants to take one cargo of LNG from the Bontang LNG plant in East Kalimantan from spot market, according to an industry source.
This portal earlier reported that for this year, there will be a total of 22 uncommitted cargoes of LNG from Bontang, 10.5 cargoes of which have been sold by state owned oil and gas firm PT Pertamina (Persero) on spot market overseas
The source however said the one spot-market LNG cargo that PLN wants to take is not part of the 22 uncommittted cargoes. ?It is part of the uncommitted cargoes allocated for the domestic market,? he said.
Last January, PLN?s Fuel Oil Division Head Suryadi Mardjoeki said his firm has secured LNG supplies amounting to 53 cargoes from several plants in Indonesia in this year, which consists of 30 cargoes from FSRU West Java, 12 cargoes from the Arun Receiving Terminal and Regassification Unit (RTRU), and 11 cargoes from FSRU Lampung.
He said, last year PLN was only able to absorb 30 cargoes of LNG, which are sourced from FSRU West Java (27 cargoes) and FSRU Lampung (3 cargoes).
