State-owned utility firm PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) will develop two combined cycle power plants, PLTGU Bengkanai (4x70 MW) in Central Kalimantan and PLTGU South Sulawesi (1x50 MW), this year.
?CNG (compressed natural gas) will fuel both power plants,? Nasri Sebayang, Director of Construction at PLN, told petromindo.com
There will be two stages of development for PLTGU Bengkanai, the first one with a capacity of 2x70 MW scheduled for operation in 2013 and the second also with 2x70 MW capacity, in 2014. For the 1x50MW South Sulawesi PLTGU, operation is targeted to start in 2013.
?We will start the tender for the construction of the two power plants later on this year,? Nasri said. PLN will also hold a tender for the development of CNG storage facility, also within this year.
