PLN will receive electricity supply from Pusri this month

State electricity company PLN's operation for southern Sumatera will receive an additional power supply from state owned fertilizer company Pusri in Palembang beginning this month, Neraca daily reported on Wednesday.

The additional supply of about 15 MW from Pusri is expected to solve the acute power shortage in South Sumatera, Jambi and Bengkulu provinces. "With the new power supply, we hope there will no more blackout in the region," PLN;s spokesman Nudirsyah told the daily.

Earlier, PLN in the region received additional supply of 12 MW from Pertamina in Sungai Gerong, Palembang and another 90 MW from PLN's new hydro power pant in Lampung, he said,

According to Nudirsyah, with the additional supply from Pusri and Pertamina, and the operation of the new power plant, PLN will no longer face difficulties to meet the power demand which hase reached about 490 MW.

He hoped that with the additional supply, PLN would also be able to receive new customers but he said that the priority would be given to those who have been put in the waiting list. (*)
