The U.S. technology giant General Electric (GE) states that the 4x25 MW PLTG Gorontalo gas turbine power plant at Maleo Village, District of Paguat, Pohuwato Regency, Gorontalo province, which started operation recently, is using four units of GE TM2500 turbine.

Thanks to the GE TM 2500 turbines, It took only six months to complete the development of the power plant since the start of construction on Sept. 10, 2015, GE said. The power plant, which is owned by state owned electricity firm PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) (Persero), was recently inaugurated by President Joko Widodo.

Handry Satriago, CEO of GE Indonesia, said in a statement on Tuesday that GE's TM2500 turbine, also known as ?power plant on wheels?, can be installed faster than any other turbines and is suitable with the dynamic development plan of power plant in Indonesia currently.

"Each of the TM2500 turbines can produce more than 25 MW of power, and it is enough to provide power to around 25,000 houses," Handry said, adding such type of turbine has been installed in several countries including Egypt, Algeria, Greece and Japan.
