PLTG Pelalawan gas fired power plant which is now under construction in Langgam district, Pelalawan regency, Riau, is expected to begin operation in April this year, after being delayed for several times, Bisnis Indonesia reported on Wednesday.

Pelalawan regent, HM Harris said that if the negotiations on the purchase of gas with PT Energi Mega Persada Bentu-Korinci Baru could be settled soon, the 15 MW gas fired power plant, God willing, could begin its operation within the next month.

The operation of the power plant has been delayed for at least three times due to licensing problems and the prolonged negotiations in the purchase of the required fuel gas from Energi Mega Persada. ?At present, we have already obtained a permit from SKK Migas,? he said.

PLTG Pelalawan is built by PT Langgam Power, which is solely owned by the local Pelalawan government, in cooperation with the Dutch based Navigate Energy. The construction has been 85 percent completed. (*)
