PLTM Cibalapulang expected to begin operation in Q2 2017

PT Medco Power Indonesia (MPI) said that the PLTM Cibalapulang mini hydro power plant project with total capacity of 21.5 MW in Cianjur Regency, West Java Province, is targeted to be on stream in the second quarter (Q2) of 2017.

Head of Corporate Counsel of MPI, Ibnu Nurzaman told Petromindo.com on Tuesday that currently the project is at the stage of completion.

"Actually, we cannot predict the exact time for the COD of the project due to the weather condition at the site of the project, but if everything runs well, it might take around four or six months to be on stream," he said, referring to commercial operation date.

The PLTM Cibalapulang project comprises of three units namely PLTM 1 with capacity of 9 MW, PLTM 2 with capacity of 6.5 MW and PLTM 3 with capacity of 6 MW. Initially, the three units were targeted to be on stream by this year's end.
