PLTP Rawa Dano to start operation in 2018

The state utility PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) has targeted that the geothermal power plant (PLTP) Rawa Dano, with a generation capacity of 1 x 100 megawatt (MW), in Serang regency of Banten province will start operation in 2018.
Currently, the local government has issued an assignment letter for its developer - PT Sintesa Banten Geothermal - to develop the power plant.
?We (local government) and the developer are still in a process of negotiating the electricity sale contract (ESC),? said geothermal senior manager at PLN?s division of new and renewable energy, Anang Yahmadi in Jakarta on Tuesday.
The geothermal power plant will be built to fulfill the need of electricity in Banten province under the second 10,000 MW fast track power development plan.
